Yuwei and Zach stopped by our booth at the summer Wedding Planner & Guide bridal show and had a little fun. They also signed a contract for their wedding photography, so of course we had to do a signing portrait! Can't wait for their big shindig at Monona Terrace next year!

Briana and Branden Get Signed!

Briana and Brandon did the smart thing--they booked their photographer well in advance! About 18 months in advance, to be exact. We're all excited, as you can tell in this amazing overhead photo we took for their signing portrait!

We got extra creative with Kit and Alex, staging a mock-nefarious deal on the street at their contract signing. Woot!

Just had to share another signing portrait from this morning--as you can tell, a good time was had by all. All 13 of us!

Here's a few signing portraits to feast your eyes on! We're booking rapidly for next year (we're already full up for June!), so don't hesitate to let us know if you want us. And, if you're excited to get a signing portrait, feel free to dress up, bring props, animals, you name it--we're up for it!

There's so much construction in our neighborhood this summer! Like a samurai swordsman, we went with it and made it into a fun photo! If you're wondering about Jennifer's pose, she was standing partly off-camera and jumped back into the frame at the last second. Hence the action stance.

Brooke and David actually lived in my hometown (Menomonie) for a couple years, ha ha! I do not recall why I was doing a pirate hook and face for this one. Why not, I suppose?

I can tell we're going to have a ton of fun with Kate and Eric! If you were wondering, I am raking the sidewalk in the background. 

The Grand Finale of Signing Portraits!

I swear we're going to have some actual wedding and portrait photos real soon on our blog, but meanwhile enjoy one more awesome signing portrait! We got so creative with Laurie and Felix that we had to post two images! One is moody and one is laughy.

Uh oh, we got two more signing portraits for yas!

Jordan and Nate are really into the vintage look, so we put the couch in the snow for them. Sweet! The weird thing is, a member of their wedding party is best friends with one of our best friends--and that's not even how they heard about us! It was obviously meant to be.

Katie and Chad took a night to think about it after they met with us, which is totally a good idea, but the sad thing is, Katie wasn't able to be there the next day when Chad came back with the contract! Luckily Chad had a photo-representation of her on his digi-phone. Et voila! Unfortunately my hair was not on the same page as the rest of us, oh well, it's doing something fun, anyway.

Annie and Mike: The Signing Portrait

Not to overwhelm you with signing portraits, but you know, we're just having a lot of fun with them lately! Up next is Annie and Mike, who are super cool. Annie signs her name backwards, for example. Like, starting with A on the right, she then goes left with "nnie" and then her last name, which keeps going left! Nice work, Annie!

 Notice that they are still in the act of signing the contract (though a little distracted)! That's the only rule for our signing portraits, you see.

Meagan and Steve: The Signing Portrait!

The Booking Flurry continues--Meagan and Steve played it smart and booked us for their 2012 wedding nice and early! We are clearly going to have a great time photographing their big day. We practically had a party during the signing portrait session!

Jennifer is still in Dallas until tomorrow, so we had her (and her bro Ryan, cuz why not?) join us via Skype. Jennifer is supposed to be holding the contract, in case you were wondering what's up with her hand.

Emily and Christopher: The Signing Portrait

Jennifer is in Dallas, but we were able to get her live via iPhone, so we went with the theme. It was slightly challenging trying to run around the front of the camera and position the contract and phone within 10 seconds, tell you what!

Based on the good times had during the signing portrait, I think we're going to have a blast at Bishop's Bay with Emily and Christopher this summer!

We're glad Sally and Brendan meet us on the moon for their contract signing after seeing us at the wedding expo last weekend. Because the signing portrait turned out way cooler than it would have otherwise!

Signing portrait #51: Coreen and Megan

Sorry it's been so long since we posted a signing portrait--we've been doing a lot of Skype and phone meetings lately, you see. So here's a real live signing portrait to feast your eyes on! This is us with Coreen, who is getting married in Iowa/Madison this summer. We can't wait to photograph her and her fiancée Megan!

A Double Signing Portrait

Maurice's fiancée Melissa lives in Indiana at the moment, so he met with us and signed the contract all by his lonesome. But then, as luck would have it, Melissa was coming to town soon, so we had them both stop by for a meet'n'greet! A good time was had by all, and we're looking forward to the wedding, next year on Jennifer's birthday, in fact! We are extremely excited to have you two on board, Melissa and Maurice!



Maurice was a great sport--humoring us as we hoisted a plastic arch behind him. What can I say--we can be a little wacky sometimes!

We're glad to say that we'll be photographing Jacob and Becka's excellent wedding this July! They said they loved our booth at the wedding expo, so I would say we're definitely a good fit. We can't wait, guys!

Steph was going to the wedding expo anyway, so we went ahead and brought a contract in for her to sign. Now we have the matching half to her fiancé Kevin's signing portrait last week!




We were excited to have Christi and Mike sign up right there on the spot. Can't wait for your engagement session, you two!

Signing portrait #32!

We are pleased to welcome Kevin and Steph into the fold! Kevin stopped by yesterday to sign a contract (we’ll be seeing Steph at the wedding expo this weekend—are you going?!), so we documented the proceedings. I’m so glad we were able to incorporate the new enigma! Now, we can’t use the enigma in all signing portraits, but we will definitely consider any special requests!



If Kevin had a thought-bubble above his head, what would it say? I think it would say "These guys are a little wacky, and a lot awesome!" Am I right or am I right?

Scott and Amanda had a lot of choices to make, so they chose to do their portrait with piles of albums, photos, and contracts spread about. You kidders!



Joanna and George met while they were working at the Capitol, so we gave them a feather pen to sign their contract with. If we’d had powdered wigs and a parchment scroll we’d have used those, too! We were excited that they were aware of our signing portrait tradition before they signed—too cool! We can’t wait until people start coming for their consultation with props in hand.
